The local railway line stops at Balloch whereas the Main line stops at Dumbarton, Helensburgh, Arrochar and Ardlui.

Getting around when you get here is not so good however and to enjoy the area fully I would strongly recommend hiring a car. Public transport is limited and in winter the timetables are reduced.
