Getting To Loch Lomond By Air

Back To Travel

Glasgow Airport is only 20mins by car from the Loch, there are several hire car companies located at the Airport, or a taxi fare would cost you a round £20. With the advent of budget airlines there are now a variety of airlines offering flights from UK cities and European destinations to Glasgow airport, as well as main carriers such as British Airways and British Midland.

From Glasgow Airport: Take the Greenock exit onto the M8, follow the signs for the Erskine Bridge, (Toll Bridge, 60p), take the Dunbarton exit onto the A82 and follow the signs for the North. The road will take you through Dumbarton and onto the Alexandria bypass. At the next roundabout you have a choice, most tourists tend to head for Balloch which is really the last place you will be able to get to a supermarket before Oban or Fort William. If you are traveling further then I would recommend stopping off at Duck Bay as this area along with Luss offers some of the best viewpoints.
